Description

Bronze inkwell with seahorses - 19th century

patinated bronze, bevelled bowl supported by three seahorses. On the cap as many swans with webbed legs joined by garlands. A faun sitting with a syringe acts as a grip for the stopper. An eclectic and highly original object, combining Renaissance motifs by reworking them in the best tradition of 19th century historicism.

Height 15.5 cm, diameter 14.5 cm. Weight 1045 g.

Item condition grading: **** good.
