A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
China, Qing dynasty, 18th century
16,2 cm high
Seated on double lotus base with beaded upper rim, the legs in dhyanasana with the open palms hands in dhyanamudra, the wide dhoti covering the legs, the chest with a series of necklaces, the face with meditative expression and the downcast eyes surmounted by a foliate tara, the forehead with a central raised ushnisha.
Provenance: the collection of a Swiss-Neapolitan noble family, acquired in early ‘30s of the 20th century.
