BIOGRAPHY: He was an Italian painter, one of the representatives of the so-called Roman School, one of the most popular and loved artists, especially by the Romans of Rome also because of his dynamic representations of "football matches", he became the symbolic painter of Via Margutta.
After joining the Roman School, in 1928, he tied himself above all to Mafai and Antonietta Raphaël, often collaborating with Scipione and Raffaele Frumenti. His pictorial activity began in 1934; a few years later, in 1937, he will present three works at the IV Exhibition of the Fascist Syndicate of Fine Arts. In the same year is his first solo show at the Apollo Gallery in Rome.
He frequented the Osteria Fratelli Menghi, a well-known meeting point for painters, directors, screenwriters, writers and poets between the 40s and 70s and was also active on a political level and, with Mario Mafai, Guttuso and Afro created the first publication of Unification in 1945, immediately after the Liberation. In the same year he participated in the 1st Exhibition of Art against barbarism, promoted by the communist newspaper at the Galleria in Rome and presented in the catalog by Antonello Trombadori, with a work of strong political commitment (Bruno Buozzi's shooting).
Winner of an edition of the Marzotto Prize with Il Pastore con la capretta, Omiccioli was present in the most important exhibitions: of particular importance was the invitation with an anthology to the Hermitage in Leningrad, the solo exhibition at the Art Gallery La Medusa in Naples; during the fifties he participated in group exhibitions in Pittsburg, Boston, Tokyo, exhibited at the traveling exhibition in Scandinavian countries organized by the Art Club, at the Roman Quadrennial of 1955, 1959 and then of 1966, at the Venice Biennials of 1952, 1954, 1956. Presents in 1959 a painting on hardboard, Christ crucified, at the VIII Biennial of Sacred Art in Bologna. During the sixties he exhibited at three editions of the Review of Figurative Arts in Rome and Lazio (1961, 1963, 1965) and at the VI Biennale di Roma in 1968.
In 1960 he was invited to the "11th edition of the Avezzano prize-national review of the Figurative Arts" in Avezzano (AQ), together with R. Brindisi, S. Cavallo, G. Ceracchini, V. Ciardo, E. Fantuzzi, C. Levi, M. Rosa, G. Straghota, F. Trombadori, A. Vangelli and others.
In 1963-64 he exhibited at the Peintures italiennes d'aujourd'hui exhibition, organized in the Middle East and North Africa.
