Beschreibung

Figure of Breton Woman is a beautiful ink and watercolor original drawing on wire rod watermarked paper realized in the middle of the XVIII century by Jan Peter Verdussen.

This original drawing, representing a woman in a traditional dress with a wicker basket portrayed from the back, has visible and diffused foxing that fortunately does not affect the beauty of the artwork. With irregular margins (above all on the corners).

A cream-colored cardboard passepartout is included: 49 x 34 cm.

Jan Peeter Verdussen or Jan Pieter Verdussen (Antwerp, 1700 - Avignon, 1763) was a Flemish painter, draftsman, and printmaker. Son of art, he is well-known for his battle scenes, incidents of camp life, and equestrian paintings. He also painted wonderful country landscapes with hunting scenes, gallant companies, and genre scenes of markets.
22.8 x 14.5 (foglio), 49 x 34 (passepartout)
