Emilio Ghirardini (Ferrara 1885 - Ferrara 1965)

He studied with Lelio Casini and debuted in 1906 at the Verdi in Trieste in Canticum Canticorum of E.Bossi and later moved with his family to Argentina. The first part of his career developed entirely in South America and sang at the Municipal in Santiago, Chile, at the Municipal in Rio de Janeiro and Havana. He returned to Italy at the end of 1916, for military service, took part in the Great War and then decided to continue his career in Italy. Probably the first performance which saw him was committed in 1918 to Verdi in Ferrara in Madama Butterfly. always he alternated the roles baritone with those funny (very successful in his portrayal of Melito Forza del Destino). After the withdrawal, which took place around 1950, he devoted himself to teaching. He was master of Renata Scotto and Luis Alva. Photo autographed print of the famous baritone dated 29.04.1925.
