Marcus Aurelius (161-180), Sestertius, Rome, AD 171-172; AE (g 21,76; mm 32; h 6); M ANTONINVS - AVG TR P XXVI, laureate and cuirassed bust r., seen from behind, Rv. IMP VI - COS III, Roma seated l. on cuirass, holding sceptre, her elbow resting on a round shield; behind her, shields; in field, S - C. RIC -; C -; BMC 1422; Banti 140 (ex Gnecchi).
Very rare, characterized by a sophisticated portrait. 100% untouched specimen, with a delicate light green patina: good extremely fine.
