Nicephorus I with Stauracius (802-811), Semissis, Syracuse, AD 803-811; AV (g 1,74; mm 19; h 6); NICE - FOROS b’, crowned bust of Nicephorus facing, wearing chlamys, holding globe cruciger, Rv. S - CIS dESP’, crowned bust of Stauracius facing, wearing chlamys, holding cross potent on globe. DOC 7; S 1609; Spahr 347 var (reverse legend).
Very rare. Struck on large and irregular flan, extremely fine.
