Holy Shroud relic

Important and very rare relic, the cut of the red silk that wrapped the Holy Shroud in all its length from 26 June 1694 to 28 April 1868. Between one ostension and the other, the Holy Shroud was first covered with a red silk sheet, and then wrapped around itself, to then be placed in a wooden and silver box and kept in the Turin Cathedral in the Guarini Chapel. The red silk sheet was replaced at the new ostension, and then cut into many fragments, to obtain the sacred relic, like this one at auction. Relic certified with original certificate, stamped with sealing wax bearing the seal CHAPEL OF S.M. TURIN, on January 11, 1871, and endorsed by "The Chaplain of S.M. Chancellor of the R. Cappella" - Printed by the printing press S.Giuseppe in the Collegio degli Artigianelli - Preservation folds of the certificate and the relic, however both in perfect condition.
