English ivory figural group of a Tea Garden - last quarter of 19th century


"Tea Garden”., elephant ivory sculpture group carved in full round (Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797 or Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758) depicting a convivial scene of a typical English family reunited in a garden around a table. The title in the cartouche on the central front of the wooden plinth suggests the scene.
Height x width x depth:  22 x 32 x 24.8 cm. Total weight 2596 g.
Item condition grading: **** good.
Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity and by CITES certificate.
