Samaroli Ord Bouquet 1965 40 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Scotland, Single Malt Scotch Whisky. 1 bt - vintage 1965. 70 cl - 40% vol.
Filling level: bottom neck (BN), completely acceptable for any age of wine.
Packing: original carton box in perfect condition. Condition report: label and capsule in perfect conditions.

Of the same vintage as the acclaimed Royal Mile Whiskies bottling, this bottle was brought to market by the late Silvano Samaroli, and is an homage to the famous 1962 Bouquet bottling form the 1980s.

Glen Ord is a well-respected distillery, sought after as a single malt and by blenders alike. The distillery operates its own in-house maltings, which supply all of Diageo's northern distilleries, as well as Talisker and occasionally heavily-peated malt for the Islay sites. Glen Ord was first officially bottled as a single malt in the 1980s, but has had a bounty of different names over the years; Glen Ord, Glenordie, Ordie, Ord, and Muir of Ord. It is currently part of the Singleton stable.

Distilled in 1965 and bottled at over 40 years old in May 2005.

Samaroli is perhaps Italy's most revered independent bottler of Scotch whisky. With an impeccable taste in single cask whiskies, and an eye for aesthetics (if not English spelling at times!), he is regarded by many as a visionary. Many of his bottles now occupy deserved sports on the pantheon of whisky greats.

These early 2000s releases bear the contentious "refined in side the bottle since..." text, that the Scotch Whisky Association abhorred, but Silvano full believed in.
