Description

A great Oenotrian bronze fibula
7th century BC; length cm 20 (8’’); With semicircular bow, decorated with two strips and engraved ‘wolf-tooth’ pattern, pin connected to the bow by a double spiral, triangular and laminated bracket.
Given its peculiarly large size, it is likely to be a votive fibula.
PROVENANCE:
From an European private collection.
