Very rare variant for the double dotted border; flan crack, about extremely fine.

After the monetary reform introduced by the Constitution of Melfi in 1231, it was created a gold coin of fixed weight (5.25 g), the so-called Augustale, which was inspired by the golden Roman Aurei and it had a long spread, always coined with the name of Federico, also by his successors.
