Description

Seal. Burnt carnelian intaglio. Bust of an emperor, turned to the right. The stone is set into a rotating (on two pivots) bronze mounting, the ending being decorated and with a hole for hanging. Wear marks, due to the sealing procedure, and to burning, for the heat of the sealing wax. 19th century.
