Inscribed Architrave
1st century BC - 1st century AD; length cm 90 (35’’); Architrave for the Mausoleum of the freedmen of Marcus Cluvius. The monument was built by testament by Alcibiades, for him and his family. Alcibiades was the leader of lictors who escorting magistrates with imperium (MAG CON LEGI LICTOR).
PROVENANCE:
Acquired on the UK art market in the 1990s.
