APULIAN RED-FIGURE KRATER
4th century BC
height cm 30,6
On one side two draped women, wearing beaded necklaces and earrings, with the hair dressed in kekryphaloi. The figure on the left is seated, holding a mirror in her right hand, offering a phiale towards the figure standing in front of her. On the other side, two figures, flanking a central white altar. The figure on the left wear a wreath and holds a spear and a branch, the shield behind her. The other figure, with the hair dressed in kekryphalos, wearing beaded necklaces and earrings, holds a phiale in her left hand and a flower wreath on the right one. In the field, a mirror. The decoration is enlivened with white and ochre. Restorations on the foot.
