A roman carnelian intaglio. Hunting eros.
9 x 11 x 2 mm
The winged child, armed with the spear, running after a butterfly. Gracious allegorical representation referring to Love running away. Intaglio executed with precision, with particular attention to the softness and modelling of the posture.
2nd century AD.
