Roman marble head of a veiled woman, 1st-2nd century AD, height cm 21,5, with support cm 38; A fascinating, evocative sculpted marble head depicting a woman with enigmatic facial features and a veil which covers the head. Characterzed by a large, almond-shaped eyes, a full-lipped, small mouth that appears to have a small smile. With a standing base. Provenance: English private collection, bought before 2000s.
