A PHOTO ALBUM OF THE VOYAGE IN THE INDIAN OCEAN OF THE PRUSSIAN BATTLESHIP "S.M.S. GNEISENAU"

1909-1911

Prints of various sizes (albums 25 x 33 cm)

Provenance: Italian private collection.

The album consisting of 142 prints, made with gelatin-bromide, aristotypes and carbon-pigment. Album in very good condition, light abrasions on the folding areas and on the corners; flag of the Prussian navy handmade on the cover. Pen captions on most of the images, mostly very sharp and of very high quality. The album includes numerous images of daily life on the ship, places, customs and traditions of the countries visited, including India, China and Japan.
