A Russian ivory box for card games - probably St. Petersburg, first half of the 19th Century

octagon shaped, Walrus ivory (Odobenus rosmarus Linnaeus, 1758) relief and open work carving on sides and cover, further embelished with day life scenes. Height 6 cm, base 27.5 x 24.2 cm. Item condition grading: **** good. A similar box is located in the State Historical Museum of Moscow. Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
