Description

Attic Red-Figure Kylix, Attribuited to the Tarquinia Painter, ca. 470 - 460 BC; height cm 10, diam. cm 25; Into the inner tondo, inscribed in a continuos meander, two standing draped youngs, advance towards the center, with a suspended rod between them. On the external surface, a sequence of conversation scenes between handcuffed youngs; among them staffs, sandals, shields are suspended. Under the handles, specularly arranged, two altar. Restored with minor reconstructions. Provenance: From the collection of a Belgian gentlewoman since 1970s.
