BIOGRAPHY: He moved to Rome at a young age, attending the Academy of Fine Arts and starting to collaborate with the most important literary and artistic magazines. He exhibits at the III Sindacale Laziale (1932) and at the I National Exhibition of the Syndicate of artists (Florence, 1933); in 1934, presented by Alfredo Mezio, he exhibited at the Bragaglia Fuori Commercio and in 1935 at the II Quadriennale in Rome. After a stay in Paris (1935) he is back in Rome. In 1936 he painted a fresco titled Roman Carnival in the Palazzo dell’Anagrafe. In 1939 he was present at the III Quadriennale and at the second Milanese exhibition of "Corrente", where he exhibited with the Roman group. Together with Guttuso, Guzzi, Montanarini, Ziveri, Fazzini, he exhibited in January 1940 at the Galleria di Roma in a significant exhibition of the new "realist" climate. The same year he was commissioned to create six panels for the E42 atrium (they will remain in the state of the sketch). He is present at the Venice Biennale and in 1941 he had a solo show at the Barbaroux Gallery in Milan. Gino Severini dedicates a small monograph to him. In his Roman years, Tamburi devoted himself above all to the landscape and his greatest contribution was expressed in the fresh drawing vein.
In 1944 he published the volume of drawings Piccola Roma, with a poem by Ungaretti, and also illustrates Stendhal's Roman Walks. In 1947 he went to Paris, which from that moment became his city.
