Pair of Italian Empire silver candlesticks - Rome 1815-1850, mark of Luigi Sciolette; ; circular foot with a plain throat and terrace adorned with a frieze of palm leaves, the top of the truncated cone barrel adorned with the double face of Janus. Stamped with the silver warranty mark in use in Rome (Papal States) after 1815 for a silver fineness of 10 ounces and 16 denari (889/1000), siversmith Luigi Sciolette (1818-1850). Base diameter 10.5 cm, height 27.2 cm. Total weight 575 gr. Item condition grading: **** good (minor lack in the upper part).
