A roman red jasper with dark green inclusions magical intaglio. Anguipes cock.
2nd - 3rd century A.D.
13,5 x 18 x 3 mm
The hybrid figure is turned on the right. The right hand raised high and holding the solar whip, left hand holding the round shield which is inscribed Ἰάω. On the reverse, two inscribed lines ABPACAZ - CABAωθ (Abraxas, Sabaoth). Chip on the left edge and wear marks on both sides. Very nice color of the stone.
