A LACQUERED BRONZE SCULPTURE OF TWO BUDDHIST LIONS
Japan, 19th century

The composition shows a larger lion resting on his bent lower limb, the head with wide open jaws and bulging eyes, the other smaller lion with movible head, probably his cub, entangled on its back, the details of the fur finely incised, traces of red and gold lacquer.

25 x 26 x 14 cm
