Description

PORSCHE ICE RACING PROTO CARBON BODY UNIQUE EXEMPLAR, 1999

Documents present: booklet, FIA-CSAI 38588 sports passport

Chassis: WPOZZZ99ZXS605056

Owners: company and Dr. Eng. Sergio Durante himself

Inspection: competition car

ASI registered: no, but it could be because it has the original documents

Approximately 6000 km since creation, main revision 2023 April.

Engine displacement: 3500

Power expression: over 380-400hp

Keys: 2 keys, lithium battery charger

The original car has been totally dismounted to reduce the weight and to remove all the unnecessary parts for racing. The the rollbar has been built in high strength steel and welded to the body by Alves, who builds roll-bars for official racecars teams: the torsional stiffness of the body has been increased by 100%, so the chassis does not twist when cornering, the tires are anchored to the ground keeping the perfect angle of camber, convergence and caster. The car sports two gearboxes, custom made:
1.a short 6 speed + reverse gearbox for ice, rally, short circuits (Porsche Franciacorta style) and uphill racing that reaches a maximum speed of 190 km/h in few seconds, with custom made racing tunable limited slip differential. All the gears, pinions and rings are fully designed and made in high performance steel, super finished, shot peened and coated in diamond like carbon (DLC nanotechnology) by virtue of the experiences with Ferrari F1 and Ducati gained by the Durante Space Tech D4S team.
2.A long 6 speed + Reverse gearbox for high speed circuit (Monza style) that reaches a maximum speed of over 300 km/h, that includes an high performance limited slip differential.

An extra short brand new short gearbox set can possibly be purchased with a value of around 70,000 euros, 6 gears + reverse.
Please see below in the document the details on materials of gears sets.

Car history

Car built entirely by D4S Motorsport with rollbar welded according to safety FIA standards and rules, Sparco seats and Sabelt six-point racing belts, approved by FIA racing fire extinguisher, internal-external racing battery switch. Bodywork totally lightened and reinforced in the stress areas. Doors in
Full Carbon Kevlar, Front hood in Full Carbon Kevlar, Engine hood in Full Carbon with fully tunable aerodynamic rear wing in Full Carbon and supports in Metal Matrix Composites (Al +20%SiC), Spoiler in Full Aerospace Carbon custom made by TEKS Aerospace, Bumpers in Carbon Kevlar reinforcement , Total body protection in Carbon Wrap.

Lightened interior with Full Carbon protections of electrical and electronic panel, gearbox and central console. Aluminum pedal board.

Engine: mounted on rigid supports in aeronautical aluminum with local reinforcements in titanium, lightened flywheel and reinforced clutch, D4S Motorsport preparation on intake and full exhaust, with 2 3 into 1 and X-pipes, for incredible low rpm to max rpm push. Sounds like F1 engine.

Racing gearbox and front and rear differentials with adjustable ramps made of super-finished highly alloyed steel and coated with PVD and CVD technology in Diamond Like Carbon and Titanium Nitride and Aluminum with Nanocomposite structure.

Custom suspension made with adjustable camber plates and Biltein PSS10
with quick adjustment of damping and ride height

The car was exhibited as a technology demonstrator at the Kohl Motorsport Fair (Cologne, DE) in 2011 with the livery sponsored by Concurrent Engineering, HAAS and K&N

The car took part in international championships on ice from 2012 to 2013 such as the Ice Series and IceChallenge finishing in fourth place overall agains prototype cars from the Andros Ice Racing Championship. It also took part in uphill races such as the Cesana-Sestriere taking first place in the prototype category.
