Anatolian ‘violin’ idol
2700 - 2100 BC; height cm 12,4 (5’’); A violin-shaped idol with flat rounded body and short stylized arms.
Belonging to Beycesultan type dating back to the first half of 3rd millennium BC in western Anatolia, including stylized figurines characterized by an extremely flat silhouette and by the rounded outline of their bodies.

PROVENANCE:
Ex Pandolfini, 27th October 2009, lot 226; formerly in an Italian collection formed in the 1970s.
