THE DISPUTE ON THE SACRAMENT OF THE TRINITY


An animated engraving made with the spirit of the Counter-Reformation and following the debate on the Trinity. God Father in the upper part with the globe of the Universe, surrounded by angels, below Jesus with the Madonna and John the Baptist on the sides, in the background the Apostles, in the lower center the pyx and the host of the sacrament of Communion. All around priests, cardinals, friars and the pope who discuss the sacrament of the Trinity by consulting the scriptures. At the bottom inscription: “Quoniam tres sunt qui testimonium dant in caelo Pater / Verbum, et Spiritus Sanctus, and the hi tres sunt // et tres sunt qui testimonium dant in terra spiritus aqua / et sanguis, et hi tres unum sunt I Epis. Ioan. Chap. V ".
