Lorenzo Capponi (Bologna, 1733 - documented until 1771) after Ludovico Carracci (Bologna, 1555-1619)

The engraving reproduces in the same direction a fresco with the story of Aeneas created by Ludovico Carracci, with the help of Annibale and Agostino, for Palazzo Fava in Bologna. The cart with the main character is pulled towards the city, all around young people and girls sing and play. The inscription "Scandit equus ryptos fatalis machina muros" is engraved at the bottom outside the image.
