Description

Therèse Éléonore Lingée (1753-1833)

La Promenade du Matin is a beautiful hand-watercolored lithograph on ivory-colored paper, realized by the French artist Therèse Éléonore Lingée (1753-1833), after Sigmund Freudeberg, a Swiss old master (1745-1801).

Inscriptions on plate on the lower margin below the image "T. H. E. inv. S. Freudeberg del. / A Paris ches Buldel rue de Gesures / Lingée Sculp. 1772". With an amazing caption on plate, in rhyme, explaining this original artwork.

In this scene, we can still perceive the libertine atmosphere of the XVIII century: two young ladies, elegantly dressed, are taking a leisurely stroll while a man is courting a woman who has just picked up some field flowers.

In good conditions, except for some discolorations of the paper and a usual yellowing along the margins. These defects do not affect the central image. On the back and on the lower right corner, a blue ink stamp is not completely readable: "Collezione Anna Laetitia Pecci Blunt - Arte Storia N".
