Cristoforo Dall’Acqua (1734-1787) after Andrea Sacchi (1599 ca. - 1661)


The engraving reproduces in reverse a painting by Andrea Sacchi '-- the allegorical portrait of the singer Marcantonio Pasqualini (1614-1691). Apollo crowns a young man intent on playing an organ with a laurel wreath, while on the right the satyr Marsyas who had defied the god lies bound. On the bottom outside engraved a long dedicatory inscription in Italian and French.
