From the series of 17 etchings on copper illustrating Charles Dickens's novels, published in London by "Thomas Tegg Cheapside" in XIX century.



Browne Hablot Knight, alias Phiz, (Kensinghton 1815 - Brighton 1892)

English painter, watercolorist and engraver. He illustrated books by Charles Dickens and other famous writers. Phiz was above all a friend and a collaborator of the famous writer. His remarkable work of illlustrator brought him a medal by the Arts Society in 1832, and by the Royal Academy in 1878.
