Description

Le Père Malice is an original artwork realized by Jules Jacques Veyrassat in the second half of the XIX century. Original etching on paper.

Titled on plate.

Good conditions, except for some foxings on the margins of the sheet. Passepartout included (cm 50.5 x 70).

The artwork represents a man with two dogs and a small house on the right. The chiaroscuro defines the volumes of the figures. There is a high contrast between the dark and the lighter parts.

The artwork was realized by the French artist Jules Jacques Veyrassat (1828 - 1895). He was a pupil of Lehman and started exhibiting at the Salon from 1848, winning medals in 1866 and 1869 for engraving, a medal in 1872 for painting, and becoming a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1878.
33 x 50 (foglio), 50,5 x 70 (passpartout), 19.8 x 25 (image)
