Description

An Election Day in New Orleans is a wonderful black and white lithograph on paper, realized in 1880 by Henry Théophile Hildibrand, after a drawing from a photograph by Valnay. Of little dimensions but very high quality and fineness, this original print represents a beautiful view of one street, an incredibly crowded street in the city of New Orleans in Louisiana during an election day. In the verso and below the engraving a part of an article titled " The Countries of the world". In excellent conditions, this superb modern artwork realized with a wise touch and a full mastery of the technique, with the imperceptible defects of two little yellow stains on the lower margin (sign of the time) is mounted in a white cardboard passepartout.
25.6x18.3 (foglio), 18 x 14.9 (image), 30 x 24 (passepartout)
