Description

Blossom is an original artwork realized by André Jacquemin in 1949. Original drypoint on paper.

Signed and dated on plate on the upper right corner.

Passepartout included. Mint conditions.

Very fresh and elegant drypoint representing a flower with a landscape in the background. The flowers are in the foreground and are very fresh, elegant, and refined. The touch of the drypoint is characterized by softness and smoothness.

The artwork was realized by the French artist and engraver André Jacquemin (Épinal, 1904 - Paris, 1992). The artist was one of the pupils of Charles Albert Waltner (1846 - 1925) and Jean-Paul Laurens at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 1928, he founded the Société de la Jeune Gravure Contemporaine. In 1936, he obtained le Grand Prix National des Arts and, in 1937, he represented France at the Venice Biennal. He also realized almost one-thousand of book illustrations.
