Description

ABDALLAH AKAR

Abstract Portrait

Abstract Portrait is an original artwork realized by Abdallah Akar in 1996.

Original colored lithograph on paper. The artwork is glued on cardboard.

Dedicated, dated, and hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the lower right corner.
Very interesting, beautiful, and fresh lithograph representing a portrait on a blue emerald background. The figure is realized with only two colors.

The artwork was realized by Abdallah Akar (Tunisia, 1952), a North-African artist who lives and works in Paris. He studied with Ghani Alani, Master Iraqi calligrapher, and exhibited for the first time in 1986. He taught calligraphy at the Institut de Monde Arabe in 1993. In 2007, he published a beautiful book in French and Arabic titled Les Poèmes Suspendus, in which the artist interprets the 7 poems that founded 6th-century Arabia.
