Description

aquatint a la maniera nera, with particular blue and light blue inking, printed in Augusta - c. 1740. Evocative image, rendered through the use of the inking in particular color, which accentuates the chiaroscuro in the different areas of the print. The figure of the risen Christ standing in the ray of light illuminates the central part, two young figures holding the tombstone, and the Roman soldiers are blinded by the divine light of Jesus.

Rare print for its inking, size and color, in good general condition, with defects at the edges and dated restorations; printed on heavy paper.
