Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720 - 1778)


Artist's proof, printed on antique laid paper, large margins, representing an antique marble vase, whose details are described in the ending note. The piece is dedicated to “Sir Guglielmo Constable, English Cavaliere, patron of fine arts, as a mark of profound respect, Cavaliere Gio. Batta. Piranesi D.D.D.”. Not signed. In very good condition. Lightly browned with normal foxing, and some tiny marks, very tiny holes on the higher margin. Left side slightly dammaged. Image Dimensions : 53.2 x 38.5 cm References: L.
